Does IKEA sell duvets with inserts?
It was a very simple project that if you know how to sew, even a tiny bit, you can complete. I have no idea why IKEA doesn’t sell the duvets covers and inserts with this feature already in them, but since they don’t this was a very inexpensive and easy fix.
Do you use a duvet cover instead of a comforter?
We bought our IKEA duvet covers and inserts and I love having a duvet instead of a comforter, but I didn’t love how the duvet was always sliding toward my husband’s side of the bed. It left me with the duvet cover and no duvet on part of my side of the bed. It’s cold and I need my duvet. I came up with a simple solution that cost less than $4!
What is the best duvet cover set to buy?
Some of our cotton bedding sets even have concealed press studs that help keep the quilt in place – a great bonus if you tend to toss and turn in bed. Looking for duvet cover sets that are easy to take care of? In that case, a mix of polyester and cotton could be a great choice.
How much twill tape do I need for a duvet cover?
Pro Tip: If you are doing one duvet and duvet cover the package of 4 yards of twill tape should be enough. If your duvet is multiple layers or you have multiple covers, you will need 2 or more packages of the twill tape. Turn your duvet cover inside out. Cut pieces of twill tape to use to tie the duvet cover to the duvet.

Wrapping yourself up in a fresh, soft bedding set…is there a better feeling? We spend roughly one third of our lives sleeping, which means we spend a lot of time cuddled up in our duvet cover sets. That makes your choice of bed linen particularly significant.
Bedding sets in different materials
In our selection of bedding sets, you can choose between different materials and styles. All the materials we use in our duvet cover sets are kind to your skin, setting you up for a truly dreamy night’s sleep – but some of our bedding set materials also have specific advantageous which might make them particular suited to you.
To help you choose the best bedding set for you, we’ve shared the thread count on each bedding set. The thread count tells you the amount of threads per square inch of fabric. The higher the thread count, the more densely woven the fabric. This results in a softer feeling.
Which duvet should I choose? Cool or warm? What is TOG?
TOG stands for ‘Thermal Overall Grade’, which is a unit of measurement used to calculate the thermal insulation of a product, usually in the textile industry. Our sleep garments are given a TOG rating according to the warmth they provide. Basically the higher the TOG, the warmer the product.
Microfibre: Easy maintenance
Microfibre is a light, synthetic material which is super soft and creates that feeling of a down filling. Duvets made from synthetic fibres are comfortable, very easy to maintain and provide excellent insulation from the cold.
Down and feather: Maintain body heat
Feather and down are natural materials. They “breathe” well and are very good at absorbing moisture. The feathers offer excellent comfort, breathability and consistency to the duvet, while the down is softer, fluffier and lighter. They create a warm and dry sleep environment so you can relax all night long.
When sustainability and comfort go hand in hand
At IKEA, we work to change things, and we want to help you do your bit too. We try to be sustainable when choosing and designing our materials, as well as in the production phase. Every day, we strive to go one step further towards creating a cleaner planet.
How do I wash my duvet?
All our duvets can be washed at 60ºC, the temperature at which mites die. Our synthetic fibre and lyocell duvets can be washed frequently, making them ideal for homes with children.
